What Postern is

Postern is a software license for a local editor extension and companion web app that let you monitor and approve coding agents on your own computer from your phone over your private network.

License

Each purchase grants a yearly subscription license covering the number of computers shown at checkout (1 or 3). Licenses are personal to you, non-transferable, and limited to machines you own or control. License keys verify offline; renewal checks run against our license server at each billing period.

Free trial

A 14-day trial is included with every install. No account or payment method is required for the trial.

Billing

Paddle is our merchant of record: it processes payment, calculates applicable taxes, and issues receipts. Subscriptions renew yearly until canceled. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time from the customer portal link in your purchase confirmation or license email; access continues until the end of the paid period.

Acceptable use

• Don't share your license key publicly or resell it.
• Don't attempt to bypass or tamper with license verification.
• Don't use Postern to control machines you don't own or aren't authorized to administer.

Your responsibility

Approvals you send from your phone execute commands on your computer. You are responsible for what you approve and for keeping your pairing code private. Rotate the code if a device is lost.

Availability

Postern's remote features require your computer to be on and reachable on your network. The license server is only contacted for checkout, renewal, and key recovery; the core product works without it once activated.

Warranty and liability

Postern is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months before the claim.

Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use after changes take effect means acceptance.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the seller is established, excluding conflict-of-law rules.
